All This Time
All This Time was an attempt to record — or re-record — a selection of songs Antony had written since the early nineties, right up to the present day, so that none of them would be forgotten. Twelve songs, each one unique in its own genre.
Jamaica is a laid-back reggae track. Can't Keep You Outa My Mind draws on soul, complete with a full brass arrangement. Teahupoo, One Day and The Land They Call The Fenua were first recorded with the rhythm section of The Guv'nors in Tahiti — bassist Lolo Ganzaman and drummer Jean-Christophe Bertoni. The bass and drum tracks from those sessions were later repurposed as Antony re-recorded the guitar parts on acoustic. The Land They Call The Fenua and One Day were then enriched further with synths and sweeping string arrangements.
Sunny is a more recent piece, written for his granddaughter. Mother and Father is an unplugged, acoustic reading of a song that first appeared on the debut album. And The Quest — the most recent composition of all — is a folk song rooted in a Buddhist legend.
Twelve songs. One lifetime.
